Installing a Threaded Valve

Apply PTFE tape to the male pipe threads. Wrap the tape clockwise. Screw the valve on by hand. Then use a wrench to secure it. Ensure it is snug and straight.

Examine your existing water pipe. Is it smooth and without threads? You need a compression valve. Does it have screw-like threads? You need a threaded valve. Always confirm before buying.
